In 2012, most of India had never heard the word "CoolSculpting". That year, LIFE Slimming & Cosmetic Clinic launched it in Hyderabad — bringing controlled-cooling fat reduction to India for the first time, at a launch event attended by film personalities and covered by the Telugu media. More than a decade later, we can say something few clinics anywhere can: we have been sculpting bodies with cryolipolysis longer than almost anyone in the country.

The 2012 launch: a first for India
CoolSculpting — the branded form of cryolipolysis — was developed from research at Harvard Medical School's teaching hospitals, where scientists observed that fat cells are more sensitive to cold than the skin and tissue around them. Cool a stubborn fat pocket to precisely the right temperature, and the fat cells crystallise and are cleared naturally by the body over the following weeks, while everything around them is untouched. No surgery, no needles, no downtime.
When the technology arrived in India, it arrived at LIFE. The launch in Hyderabad, inaugurated with representatives of the technology's makers, put our city on the map for advanced non-surgical body contouring. From that day, LIFE clients no longer needed to fly to Singapore, Dubai or London for the world's leading fat-freezing treatment. It was here.

Thirteen years, thousands of sessions — and a protocol of our own
